The Oasis of Ca' Mello, located along the Sacca degli Scardovari, is evidence of an ancient mouth of the Po that has now disappeared, that of the Po di Ca' Mello.

The Ca' Mello Nature Oasis is located between the Po of Venice and the Sacca degli Scardovari, in the Donzella Island and is characterized by a unique environment from an environmental and landscape point of view.
This wetland is part of a larger naturalistic context of about 150 hectares, which boasts considerable landscape value. In addition to the Ca' Mello Oasis, which represents the marsh refuge at the mouth of the canal of the same name, there are also the Bonello biotope, an ancient fishing valley that has now become the Experimental Fish Center of Veneto Agricoltura, the Donzella forest, an 80-hectare wooded area that represents one of the largest forestation projects in the region, and finally the Cassella pine forest area.
The Ca' Mello Oasis can be visited on foot, by bicycle and by boat.
The Visitor Center, located in the traditional homes of the area's farmers, has recently been restored and houses a permanent exhibition on the history of the Oasis.
The area includes a marsh basin of about 30 hectares, occupying the space where the mouth of the ancient branch of the Po di Ca' Mello once stood. This branch separated from the Po of Venice and flowed into the Sacca degli Scardovari until the 19th century.
Today, thanks to a network of well-structured visitor trails, it is possible to explore the environment without disturbing the fauna, immersing oneself in silence, admiring and listening to the sounds of nature.
