Polesine Camerini Island

The island of Polesine Camerini is the youngest in the municipality of Porto Tolle; the route is about 25 km. It hosts large expanses of countryside, riverine forests, lagoons and green oases.
The 'route starts from Palazzo Camerini, a name derived from the major landowners of that place, the Camerinis. From here we take the embankment to the left. From the top of the embankment we observe the reclamation of the former Pellestrina, Forti and Busa Bastimento valleys.

We leave behind the bridge that connects to Scardovari and continue toward the sea, skirting the Sacca del Canarin, a fishy lagoon where the delicious veracious clams are raised. You reach the chimney of the former Enel power plant, a particular example of industrial archeology; from here you can also see the mouth of the Po di Pila, the main branch of the Delta, and finally return to the starting point.
