Island of Ca' Venier
The route to Ca' Venier Island is about 23 km. We start from the church of San Nicolò in Ca' Venier, a name derived from the Venier family who owned the surrounding land. We reach the Venice Po embankment towards Pila, passing Ca' Zuliani where we will find an old palace from the 1700s. In Pila the great Faro and the Barbamarco lagoon await us, with the valleys of San Carlo and Ca' Zuliani forming the strip of land that surrounds us.
From Pila we reach Boccasette skirting the village and Palazzo Restelli of the late 1800s, and finally arrive at the beach. Along the road to the sea, numerous bird species such as oystercatchers, egrets and coral gulls can be seen. Toning toward the village and skirting the bank of the Po di Maistra we will return to the starting point.
