Via delle Valli

Fishing valleys are one of the most fascinating settings in the Po Delta, a most precious environment shaped by man through centuries of experience to provide fish and birds with the best conditions to grow and overwinter.
This itinerary takes us to discover those located between the Po di Levante and the Po di Maistra.
We start from Ca' Venier, a small village that was, however, the first Venetian settlement in the still-forming Delta in the mid-1600s.

Passing the small bridge over the Po di Maistra, we turn right and skirt the river. After a while on our left we will begin to observe large expanses of brackish water, the fishing valleys, always frequented by numerous waterfowl, including the elegant Pink Flamingo.

Once in Porto Levante, we return along the same road to Scannarello where we will cross the characteristic Boccasette pontoon bridge and then return to Ca' Venier by following the opposite bank of the river.
